The Lead, AI Security Strategy and Implementation will be a senior, product-focused individual contributor responsible for shaping and implementing Docusign’s AI Security Strategy. A key member of our AI & Data Security team, the Lead will work across the Security team and with cross-functional business leaders to integrate AI security best practices into all business functions. In this role, you will spearhead initiatives that secure AI development pipelines, enable safe adoption of AI tools, and mitigate risks from adversarial or malicious use of AI. You will also drive data security programs focused on protecting company and customer data, ensuring proper governance and enabling secure access. Partnering with Engineering, Product, Security, Legal, IT, and Compliance teams, you will define and deliver programs that safeguard AI models, data, and AI-enabled platforms, bridging program delivery, risk management, and emerging AI and data security practices.
This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Group Vice President, Chief Information Security Officer.
Responsibility
Develop and execute the organization’s AI and data security strategies, aligning with overall business objectives, digital transformation initiatives, and product and enterprise security requirements
Contribute on a high-performing, product-driven team focused on measurable outcomes and continuous improvement
Work in close partnership with security engineers within the AI & Data Security team; Security teammates within product security, enterprise security, and detect and respond; and cross-functional leaders across the business
Define, deliver, and continuously evolve AI security best practices
Collaborate with AI/ML teams to implement secure model development practices, including secure training pipelines, data governance, and model monitoring
Operationalize governance and guardrails for AI/ML tool adoption, ensuring safe and compliant use across the organization
Support related data security programs, ensuring security best practices, resilience, and regulatory compliance in how AI/ML data is collected, stored, processed, and leveraged
Partner with Product, Engineering, and Security leaders to embed secure by design and default principles into AI/ML systems, data platforms, and product workflows
Translate technical risk into business impact, providing clear updates, trade-off discussions, and recommendations to executives
Ensure products meet internal security standards, industry frameworks, and regulatory requirements
Define measurable success criteria and report outcomes to leadership
Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

Basic
12+ years in AI and data security or related security disciplines
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, risk management, or a related technical field
Experience leading or managing AI and data security programs
Experience with product security, including secure development lifecycle and CI/CD best practices, AI/ML risks, secure coding practices, and software supply chain risk mitigation
Experience with enterprise security, including risk mitigation and governance of AI/ML when developed or used for business objectives and AI and data security best practices for CRM, ERP, HRM, and other business workflows
Experience with threats presented through the malicious use of AI or ML and substantive experience working with threat intelligence, CSIRT, PSIRT, Product, and Engineering teams to combat such risks
Experience in data governance and security, including implementation of data governance and security frameworks, business initiatives to leverage data, and data security best practices such as identity and access management, attack surface management, and data loss prevention
Experience defining security KPIs, metrics pipelines, and executive reporting frameworks
Preferred
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and business audiences
Excellent collaboration and communication management skills across technical and non-technical audiences
Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills, especially with Product, Engineering, Data, Privacy, and executive teams
Master’s degree or higher
Certifications: CAIP, CISM, CRISC, CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent
Familiarity with attack surface monitoring, supply chain security, and continuous control validation
Experience driving automation strategies, predictive analytics, and data-driven insights
Knowledge of frameworks such as NIST CSF, NIST AI RMF, ISO 27001, ISO 42001, FAIR, SOC 2, and FedRAMP
Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:
California: $177,900.00 - $287,425.00 base salary
Washington, Maryland, New Jersey and New York (including NYC metro area): $170,900.00 - $251,325.00 base salary
