What you'll do

Docusign is looking for a Software Engineer to join the Connect team.

 

Connect is Docusign's webhook infrastructure team. This team supports a Tier 0 service (Docusign Connect) that is responsible for enabling internal and external customers to get notifications on events for any Docusign product. Many customers rely on this to power their downstream systems like vaulting and storage of agreements, reporting, or triggering workflows specific to their organization's needs. Connect processes tens of billions of events with a p99 end-to-end latency of less than 1s.

 

As a Software Engineer on the Connect team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining key features that are integral to our customers and business. You will contribute to our development and operations teams to improve the creation of infrastructure solutions that scale with our rapid growth. As a successful engineer, you have a flexible attitude combined with an aptitude to learn and share. You are responsible for writing quality, scalable code and enjoy working in a fast-paced agile environment, care about the team’s decisions, and are focused on quality-driven development.

 

We are seeking an engineer who is experienced in building distributed cloud applications. You will have the opportunity to work on a complex ecosystem in the cloud with a focus on scale and availability. You will be responsible for developing software solutions using object-oriented methodologies, design patterns, and building scalable, highly available systems. You will also have experience with public cloud, are curious, and are able to learn new technologies and toolsets.

 

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Manager, Engineering.

 

Responsibility

  • Write clean, testable, and maintainable code in C#, .NET, and related technologies
  • Collaborate with team members to build and maintain features that enable customers to receive real-time event notifications
  • Participate in agile software development practices including sprint planning, standups, code reviews, testing, and deployments
  • Contribute to unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, and troubleshoot failures in CI/CD pipelines
  • Assist in investigating production issues and implementing fixes with support from senior engineers
  • Work with other engineers to monitor service health and improve reliability through metrics and alerting
  • Participate in team on-call rotation following runbooks and standard procedures
  • Stay current with industry best practices and apply learnings to day-to-day development
  • Support and implement process improvements for code quality, test coverage, and release safety

Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of professional software development experience
  • Experience with C#, Java, or another object-oriented programming language
  • Experience developing scalable and maintainable software
  • Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD, and automated testing practices
  • Experience with distributed systems concepts and cloud environments

Preferred

  • Experience working in a production cloud environment (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Exposure to RESTful APIs and microservices
  • Experience writing automated tests (unit, integration, or end-to-end)
  • Familiarity with SQL or NoSQL databases
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Passion for learning new technologies and growing as a developer

Wage Transparency

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

 

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

 

California: $112,800.00 - $175,000.00 base salary

 

Washington, Maryland, New Jersey and New York (including NYC metro area): $106,900.00 - $155,100.00 base salary

 

This role is also eligible for the following:

  • Bonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals. Non-Sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, which is calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance.
  • Stock: This role is eligible to receive Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
