What you'll do

The Senior Security Compliance Manager is crucial for overseeing and managing DocuSign's security commercial certification audits and self-assessments, including a wide range of global and regional standards like ISO 27001, PCI-DSS 4.0, and IRAP. This role specifically focuses on building scalable processes to support the APJ region while collaborating with the US compliance team. Key responsibilities involve monitoring the security compliance landscape to identify relevant standards and translate them into actionable programs, including gap analyses and remediations. The ideal candidate possesses strong auditing experience, technical expertise, and information security knowledge to drive the implementation of necessary security controls. This hands-on position requires close collaboration with various internal teams and stakeholders to ensure ongoing compliance.

 

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director, Security Compliance.

 

Responsibility

  • Monitor the security compliance landscape to identify which standards and certifications are relevant for APJ region the organization and translate into program actions such as performing gap analysis and remediations
  • Conduct FISC self assessment and monitor compliance annually
  • Conduct and manage ISMAP compliance with external auditors and Japanese government agencies and monitor compliance annually
  • Prepare and complete application documentations required for ISMAP compliance
  • Conduct security compliance audits and assessments independently end-to-end while adhering to strict deadlines and maintaining executive level metrics and reporting
  • Perform contract agreement reviews as needed and provide guidance from a security compliance perspective
  • Review documentation for Security in Japanese and proactively shape DocuSign’s response to security regulatory standards/certifications and customer security responses in Japan
  • Provide security compliance guidance on new product features and changes
  • Conduct security control test of design and test of operating effectiveness activities
  • Be the subject matter expert to lead compliance discussions, awareness, internal and external audit interviews
  • Work with product and engineering, business, and technology teams to define and maintain an effective suite of controls adapting to changes in products, business processes and technology solutions
  • Manage audit deliverables, identify, and analyze process gaps, provide guidance and expertise to control owners, develop remediation recommendations, and track to completion
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships based on trust and transparency with control owners, auditors, and customers
  • Establish governance across projects with structure on tracking and reporting
  • Develop metrics to measure and track compliance, risk and the effectiveness of the security compliance program
  • Document and socialize the security compliance programs to provide transparency to control owners and obtain actionable commitment from relevant stakeholders
  • Identify automation opportunities and implement scalable solutions including technical and monitoring controls

 

Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic 

  • Proficiency in Japanese
  • Business level English proficiency
  • Experienced in working with Japanese government agencies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience in Security Compliance, Auditing, Assessments or other GRC related experience
  • 3+ years of managing security compliance audits and/or customer audits
  • Experienced in working with cross functional departments and stakeholders to provide security compliance issues, risks, and recommendations
  • Industry certification such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC, ISO27001 Lead Auditor, CompTIA Security+, AWS/Azure Security, and/or equivalent GRC certification

 

Preferred 

  • Self-starter with excellent communication, collaborative, and presentation skills
  • Strong understanding of the audit lifecycle, has experience testing controls and writing test scripts in various environments and functions
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and managing multiple projects concurrently
  • Strong understanding of common compliance and governance frameworks relevant for a fast-paced SaaS organization
  • Ability to review compliance evidences required for audit
  • Ability to coach and prepare technical teams / SMEs for audit interviews
  • Ability to engage with internal, external, and customer auditors
  • A strong networker, a natural relationship builder, with outstanding communication and influencing skills
  • Executive level engagement and negotiation skills; Comfortable interacting at all levels (from C-suite to technical teams)
  • Strong business acumen and leadership skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and quantitative approach to solving problems
  • Strong sense of ownership and goal achievement mind
  • Familiarity with privacy principles and the intent of privacy regulations including GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, HITRUST etc
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS) and strong technology SaaS experience

Wage Transparency

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

 

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

 

California: $X/hour - $X/hour or $X - $X base salary

 

Illinois, Colorado, Massachusetts and Minnesota: $X/hour - $X/hour or $X - $X base salary

 

Washington, Maryland, New Jersey and New York (including NYC metro area): $X/hour - $X/hour or $X - $X base salary

 

Washington DC: $X/hour - $X/hour or $X - $X base salary

 

Ohio: $X/hour - $X/hour or $X - $X base salary 

 

This role is also eligible for the following:

  • Bonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals. Non-Sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, which is calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance.
  • Stock: This role is eligible to receive Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
