What you'll do

Are you a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional with a passion for data and its application to business success? Docusign is seeking a Sr. Sales Compensation Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring the effectiveness and accuracy of our sales compensation programs through robust analytics and reporting.

 

As a Sr. Sales Compensation Analyst, you'll leverage your expertise in data analysis to provide actionable insights that optimize sales performance, drive strategic decision-making, and ensure equitable compensation for our sales force. This position is an individual contributor role reporting to Director, Sales Compensation Strategy.


Responsibility

  • Develop, maintain, and automate recurring sales compensation reports and dashboards using Tableau to track performance against targets, identify trends, and highlight areas for improvement
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of sales performance data, compensation plan effectiveness, and quota attainment to provide strategic recommendations to sales leadership
  • Identify data discrepancies and work cross-functionally to resolve issues, ensuring data integrity across all reporting
  • Support the annual and ongoing sales compensation planning process through data modeling, impact analysis, and scenario planning.
  • Prepare presentations and communicate complex analytical findings clearly and concisely to diverse audiences
  • Extract, transform, and load data from various sources, primarily utilizing SQL, to support compensation calculations and reporting
  • Work extensively with Salesforce.com (SFDC) to extract sales performance data, understand sales hierarchies, and validate compensation-related information
  • Collaborate with IT and other cross-functional teams to improve data accessibility and reporting capabilities
  • Partner closely with Sales Operations, Finance, and HR to ensure alignment on compensation strategies and accurate data flow
  • Respond to ad-hoc data requests and provide analytical support to various stakeholders

Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related quantitative field
  • 5+ years of experience in a data analysis role
  • Proficiency in SQL with demonstrated ability to write complex queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets
  • Proficiency in Tableau with proven experience in developing interactive dashboards and reports for business users
  • Experience with Salesforce.com (SFDC) or modern CRM tool

Preferred

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into business insights
  • Experience with Python (NumPy, Pandas, and scikit-learn) or a willingness to learn
  • Understanding of sales compensation plan design principles
    systems
  • Experience in sales compensation in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and intellectual curiosity
  • Proven track record of gained efficiencies
  • Experience with Xactly or other Sales Incentive Compensation tools
  • Excellent organization, documentation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Google Workspace
  • Results-driven and self-motivated with the ability to multitask
  • Effective, clear, and concise communication skills, verbal and written

 This role is also eligible for the following:

  • Bonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals. Non-Sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, which is calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance.
