What you'll do

Docusign is looking for a highly motivated scale and transformation minded Enterprise Business Application Architect leader to join our Enterprise Architecture team. This multidimensional role will work closely with business and technology leaders across all business domains and disciplines including: sales, marketing, commerce, legal, HR, finance and others.

 

They will be responsible for driving decisions on business technology investments and architecting the interconnections between the ecosystem of business systems that drive Docusign’s business critical processes. They will work cross-functionally on major programs and projects to design, optimize and deliver modern business capabilities both for our internal and external customers.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Sr. Director, Enterprise Applications.

 

Responsibility

  • Understand and translate business needs to drive out-of-the-box adoption of industry-standard and best-in-class platforms
  • Lead with customer experience by translating business requirements into simple, modern end-user experiences
  • Assess new technologies, manage RFPs, and coordinate with technology vendors to determine the best fit while ensuring compliance with Docusign’s architectural and security standards and long-term system roadmap
  • Identify and build cross-team and cross-technology proof-of-concepts (POCs) to explore new technologies and determine their applicability to drive business value
  • Research and deliver strategic technology points of view that define our target technical architecture strategy and roadmap for 1-2 years
  • Drive AI systems strategy to incorporate emerging AI from existing critical business platforms like Salesforce and Oracle ERP, AI-native vendors, and our own “AI Builder” framework that engineers use to integrate AI into their products
  • Provide feedback on technical design specifications, configurations, instructions, and other system-related information in partnership with other technical architects
  • Partner with key technical, compliance, and security teams to design trust-focused solutions
  • Consult, influence, and interpret the business vision and strategy in partnership with business leaders
  • Coordinate with the program management team to orchestrate cross-functional business leaders in support of sequencing, prioritizing, and executing the strategic roadmap
  • Manage business capability maturity models and roadmaps, key performance indicators, and metrics to showcase the impact of systems
  • Plan, guide, and facilitate interactive discovery meetings, including the exploration of current "as-is" business processes and challenges, operational models, and technology
  • Drive and deliver cross-functional target-state design sessions
  • Translate discovery findings and present transformative enterprise-wide "to-be" solutions to influence change at an organizational level, up to C-level stakeholders
  • Establish rapport, credibility, trust, and respect throughout the organization at all levels, and be viewed as a team player with exceptional communication, analytical, and leadership skills
  • Collaborate and take the lead on initiatives to further mature our ability to support end-to-end enterprise architecture practice
  • Partner with architecture teammates and adjacent subject matter experts to extend bench strength through teaching, training, and cultivating collaboration spaces in different subject areas
  • Define program policies and documentation of best practices within your business domain with business stakeholders, including support for: business engagement framework, business capability inventory, and business process diagrams

Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic

  • 12+ years of experience in driving large scale, cross-functional transformation blending business operations and technology
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, business, or equivalent
  • 10+ years experience building and integrating business processes across flagship enterprise business systems like: Salesforce, OracleERP, Zuora and Workday
  • Experience deliverying extensively researched and data driven points of view to guide technology roadmap decisions

Preferred

  • MBA and/or Master’s degree in information systems or related technical field
  • 2+ years experience building and integrating AI capabilities
  • Experience with data architecture and governance especially enabled through data tools like Tableau, Snowflake
  • Experience successfully scaling critical business processes to a growing medium-sized enterprise
  • Organized and detail-oriented, able to work well under deadlines in an ambiguous changing environment and complete multiple projects effectively and concurrently
  • Extensive ability to navigate cross-functional relationships, resolve issues and conflicts with proven experience driving teams to successful alignment and completion of projects
  • Track record of promoting innovation and meaningful change, through continuous improvement in a resource-constrained environment

Wage Transparency

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

 

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

 

California: $157,500.00 - $254,350.00 base salary

 

This role is also eligible for the following:

  • Bonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals. Non-Sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, which is calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance.
  • Stock: This role is eligible to receive Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
