What you'll do

The Director of Presales Solution Consulting (Federal) provides strategic leadership for all Presales activities supporting Docusign’s selling of the Intelligent Agreement Management offering into the US federal government. As a manager of managers, you will lead and develop a team of Presales Managers and Solution Consultants, driving go-to-market strategy, opportunity engagement, and solution excellence for Federal clients. You will serve as a Federal industry thought leader, collaborating with Sales, Customer Success, and Product teams to deliver tailored, compliant solutions that address the unique needs of Federal agencies.


This position is a people manager role reporting to the Senior Director, Solution Consulting.


Responsibility 

  • Set and execute presales strategy for the US Federal market, representing Docusign as an industry leader in partnership with executive leadership
  • Lead, coach, and develop Presales Managers and Solution Consultants to drive Federal customer engagement, adoption, and team excellence
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, and Product Management to develop and implement effective Federal go-to-market strategies and influence product direction
  • Oversee opportunity engagement, resource alignment, and solution delivery for strategic Federal accounts, ensuring compliance with Federal regulations, security, and procurement standards
  • Drive the creation of tailored demos, proof of concepts, and customer engagements that address Federal client needs
  • Serve as an executive speaker and thought leader at industry events, conferences, and marketing activities, representing Docusign’s Federal expertise
  • Act as the internal voice-of-the-business to shape market strategy and strengthen Docusign’s competitive positioning in the Federal sector

Job Designation

Remote: Employee is not required to be in or near an office frequently and works from a designated remote work location for the majority of the time.

 

Positions at Docusign are assigned a job designation of either In Office, Hybrid or Remote and are specific to the role/job. What you bring

Basic 

  • 8+ years of presales experience supporting US Federal government clients
  • 5+ years of people management experience, including managing managers, within Federal software presales
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience

Preferred 

  • 15+ years of experience in technical presales, enterprise software sales, and team leadership
  • In-depth knowledge of Federal sub-verticals (Civilian, Defense, System Integrators), regulatory bodies, and compliance requirements
  • Strong understanding of Federal procurement, legislative processes, and software vendor ecosystem
  • Demonstrated Federal thought leadership, including public speaking and industry engagement
  • Proven track record of building, coaching, and scaling high-performing presales teams
  • Experience with SaaS solutions, value-based selling, and enterprise software platforms (ERP, CRM, ECM)
  • Familiarity with electronic signature technologies, digital agreement management and AI
  • Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel 50% or more as required

Wage Transparency

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

 

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

 

California: $186,500.00 - $280,400.00 base salary

 

Illinois, Colorado, Massachusetts and Minnesota: $180,300.00 - $261,375.00 base salary

 

Washington, Maryland, New Jersey and New York (including NYC metro area): $180,300.00 - $270,350.00 base salary

 

Washington DC: $186,500.00 - $270,350.00 base salary

 

Ohio: $169,000.00 - $245,050.00 base salary 

 

This role is also eligible for the following:

  • Bonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals. Non-Sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, which is calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance.
  • Stock: This role is eligible to receive Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
